Family History Month 2012

It has been a busy month for family history researchers at Yarra Plenty Regional Library. In August we promote family history throughout the whole month around the same time that  National Family History Week is kicked off at the end of July  throughout Australia.
Among our guest speakers was genealogist Shauna Hicks who presented five talks over two days.  Her presentations are now available via her website  to download. Go to the resources link and scroll down to Presentations – Yarra Plenty Regional Library.  Shauna’s talks were most interesting and provided many resources for researchers to “go look” for further information.

There are still a couple more events left in August including Free Genealogy Websites at Rosanna Library Wed 22 August.  As this event has booked out, a second session has been scheduled for Thursday September 6
To check out the free Genealogy websites see this permanent list on our website

Nicole Llewellyn from Public Records Office Victoria  will explain how to make the best use of the State Archives for your research at Diamond Valley Library on Wed 29 August.
Keep an eye on our events calendar for future events of interest for family history researchers including the monthly Family History Fest program at Diamond Valley Library. Go to www.yprl.vic.gov.au and click on the "What's on" link.
