Genealogy blog - one year on

Today marks the one year anniversary since the creation of this blog. It aims to inform family history researchers in our community about topics of interest, wether it be upcoming events, new resources available and more...

Family History researchers can often be frustrated with finding details on our ancestors lives other than the birth, marriage and death dates. How wonderful it would be if the person who first stepped foot on Australian shores had documented his or her life - written a biography for instance.

Today it is very easy for us to do this for our descendants - we have all witnessed so much change in life these days - technology for one thing, and how it can effect the basic of routines and day to day living.

One website which helps along that process is The Remembering Site which after paying a small subscription fee uses questions and prompts to help anyone record the unique details of their life.

Look for opportunities in 2008 at Yarra Plenty Regional Library to expand locally on this process with our own reminiscences project.
